1.14.2012 Update

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all who pray for this ministry!  Saturday we had one man saved on the streets of Hartford!

We started the day at the XL Center for the Disney on Ice show.  We had the opportunity to use the first of two new banners we purchased for this ministry.  At the right, Harry is holding it with a scripture sign as well.

Once the crowd had died down at the XL Center, we moved up to Main Street to our normal spot, set up all the scripture signs, and started preaching.

We were able to deal with several people at length.  I spoke to a young man named Jacob whose mom was a Pentecostal pastor.  He admitted that he had never been born again, but after some time of talking with him, it was apparent that he was not ready to repent of his sin and submit to Christ.  I left him with a gospel tract and told him that we would be praying for him.  His picture is to the left.

Dave dealt with a young Muslim man for a while.  He has passed by our way before, but has never stopped to allow us to talk with him.  Today he did.  He seemed mostly interested in proving his prowess in his religion.  Dave asked him where Mohammed was right now.  His answer was, "In the ground."  Dave then asked him, "Where is Jesus Christ right now?"  The young man had nothing to say!  Christ is risen, and EVERY other religious leader is in the ground!  Pray that the Lord would soften this man's heart to the accepting of the gospel for his salvation.

It was right near the end of our time there when a man approached Herb and asked, "Can you show me how to be saved?" or something to that effect.  Talk about fruit ready to be picked!  Herb explained the gospel to him, and told him that when he was ready to repent of his sin and put his faith in Christ he could be saved.  The man answered, "I'm ready to repent of my sin right now!"  He and Herb knelt there on the sidewalk and he prayed of his own accord and asked God to save him.  What a blessing!  Unfortunately, we don't have a picture of this man.  His name was Chris Jacobs.  Pray for his growth in the Lord.

Here is another picture of the banner being used on Main Street.  I hope to get some short video clips posted of us preaching alongside it.  Check back for that soon.

Thank you all again, and God bless you for your prayers for us.
