7.23.2011 Update

Eight men, including a few new-comers, came out to spread the gospel on the streets of Hartford today.  To keep it concise, I'll just make a list of the names of those we dealt with:
  • Moses - He had come to RU for the first time the night before.  Pray that he would continue to come to RU, as well as take the opportunity to come to the services.
  • Jose - Accussed us of wasting our time with tracts, and seemed more concerned about the waste of paper and trees than he did men's (including his own) souls.  We talked briefly with him about this, but he was convinced that tracts don't work, and gave no clear testimony of salvation himself.
  • Calvin - A bus driver who, while stopped where I was preaching, got out and received a tract from Harry.
  • Keifa - A man from St. Croy who was looking for food.  He seemed sincere enough, though I rarely if ever give out cash, so we bought him some groceries to take back to his wife and son.  He talked about believing in Jesus, but his testimony was very shakey.  We told him to remember that it was because of Christ we did this for him, and to tell the same to his family.  He thanked us, and went on his way.
  • CVS clerk - A woman at the CVS where Harry and I got Keifa some food.  While I was at the register, Harry was walking out with Keifa and she interrupted her transaction with the customer in front of me and demanded that Harry give her "one of those little books!"
  • There were two men named Tony who the other men dealt with
  • There was also a Spanish man that Harry talked to for some time, but because of my sieve-like brain, I have forgotten the name.
No pictures this week, but there was a lot of preaching, as always, many tracts were handed out, and though there were a larger share of hardened people this week, the Lord gave us much liberty to do what we did.  We pray He was glorified.
