Sorry about the delay in this update. Computer issues. A shame to delay this one, too, because the Lord gave us a great time out on the streets of Hartford this day!
We started the day off down at the green near Park St. While we were there, several of us preached, some at the street corner, and some in the green.
I had the special blessing of being able to deal with two Muslim men about their souls. Both conversations headed to the deity of Christ, and one even allowed me to open the Bible and show him the scriptures that proved it so. When showed it, he said he had never seen that before, and would consider it! More than I was expecting, to say the least. The men's names were Sincere (allegedly) and Edward.
Herb and Isaac were able to deal with a man for quite some time (seen at picture at left). He was very close to salvation, but was drawn away by another man soon thereafter. There were also several men whom we encouraged to attend Reformers Unanimous.
After about two hours at the green we moved up Main St. to the Center Church area and began preaching there again. I saw a man there whom we have brought up before. His name is Trevor. I took the opportunity to talk with him again, and this time I was able to spend almost half-an-hour going through the gospel step by step. I believe he received more understanding about the gospel, but he has still not made a personal decision to trust Christ.
The other men were able to deal with several Polish men named Jerry, Robert and George, and there were several Christians who encouraged us in the work.
All in all, we were able to put in four hours of publishing the gospel of Jesus Christ on the streets of Hartford. Praise the Lord for the opportunity, and for entrusting us with the ministry of reconciliation. Pray that these folks we dealt with would submit themselves to the will of God and be saved.
Thanks again for your prayers.------ 11.27.2010
We spent a lot of time just preaching today. It was pretty much non-stop from the time we got there.
Isaac and I canvassed Main St. and Market St. before coming back to Center Church to preach. There was a young couple who stayed right next to us during most of the preaching. I don't know their spiritual condition, but if they aren't saved, they heard the gosple plain and clear.
There were several men who were dealt with: Harry Cooper, Maxine Reese, and another Spanish man whose name I lost in a text from my phone. Technology.
We have been considering adding to our repetoire a new tactic of reaching people with the gospel. Please pray that the Lord would lead us in that particular endeavour. More details to follow if it comes to fruition.
