We had no less than 14 people with us to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ today in Hartford!
The event was the UCONN men's basketball game, and there was no end to the flow of people coming by us. For the size of the crowd, there was a disproportionately smaller number of tracts handed out, though we handed out many.
There was enough men to have preaching at both the front doors and the side entrance as well. We were able to continue for a good hour like this. Nearer to the end, the guys in front were asked to tone it down by the police who had received a complaint. After a while later, they were asked to leave. Fortunately, the preaching was able to continue at the side entrance until it was time to go.
We would covet your prayers each day we go out there concerning how best to deal with requests by the authorities to stop preaching. We have no desire to create a conflict with the powers that be, however, we know also that we should obey God rather than men. It may come to a time where we have to push the issue if only to validate the American rights we still have (I think) to do what we do.
